Dear Parents,
We hope you have all had a lovely week. Year 3/4 children have been super busy learning all about addition and subtraction and discovering the importance of Black History Month through poetry. In science we have studied fossils and how they are formed.
Parent/Teacher Consultations
You are now able to book an appointment to meet with your child's class teacher on Friday 22nd October, 8:30am to 3:30pm. Please use the Scopay app to secure your slot. We will, once again, be using Zoom. A meeting link will be sent to you nearer the time.
Phase Emails
Please remember, that if you wish to contact your child's class teacher, you can use the phase email. The address to use for the Year 3/4 teachers is: year 3_4@downhallprimary.com
Your emails will be responded to as soon as possible by a member of staff. This may not be until the following working day (or Monday, if sent after 4pm on Fridays.)
If you wish to inform a teacher of your child's absence, an appointment or a change in drop-off/collection arrangements, please contact the school office rather than the phase emails, as these are not checked regularly during teaching hours.
Finally, please remain courteous and polite to our staff when emailing. Defamatory comments will not be tolerated and will be forwarded to Mrs Nelson.
Year 3/4 Homework Tasks - Due Wednesday 13th October
Must Do
- Reading: Remember 15-20 minutes everyday is super important. You will have taken your Reading Record home for your parents to comment on. These will be collected by teachers and checked from time to time. Please make sure you bring your back your Homework Books by Wednesday of the following week.
Accelerated Reader - when you are finished your book your teacher can change it for you. As soon as you are ready you can take a quiz at school. Remember that you need 3 100% scores to move up a level
Times table practise - this week we are looking at 4's/5's. Please practise these as we do in school.
Can Do
- Continue logging on to TTRS, Sumdog and Myon or Big Cat - your logins are stuck in the front cover of your Reading Records.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Mrs Hurley, Miss Harvey & Mr Greenfield
