Y 3/4 Welcome back to the Summer Term

Dear Parents
We hope you and your families enjoyed a relaxing and sunshine-filled week!
This term we will be focusing on providing your children a range of home learning activites that can be completed independently or with support depending on your situation. As always we would appreciate any feedback regarding the resources we are providing you with. We are endeavouring to stick as closely to our curriculum as possible but continue to consolidate previous learning too. We want you to have a stress-free experience and are here to help your child as much as we can. We have been asked about the possiblity of using Zoom to teach but at this stage our school has no plans to use this platform. Please feel free to arrange Zoom calls between your children - they are a great way of keeping in touch. Keep checking the school website for any updates regarding the return to school of other year groups. Currently the school is offering EYFS, Year 1 and Year 6 40 spaces for the children of keyworkers beginning June 8th. Contact the school office if you would like further information.

Please do stay in touch and have a fantastic week!

Happy holidays...

Dear parents
What an eventful 5 weeks we have had. It has been so lovely to see all your hard work and also to hear from your lovely children. We hope you have managed to do some of the work that we have provided for you.  Thank you for all your support and positive feedback regarding the use of Google Classroom. It has also been nice to receive emails via our year3_4@downhallprimary.com address.
During the holidays we don’t expect any work to be completed. Please use this time to have a rest. Mums and dads you are doing a phenomenal job - many of you are continuing to work whilst trying to provide support for your children. It’s not easy but we will get through this I can assure you.
Have a fantastic holiday guys and keep us posted on what you are getting up to. Love from us all and stay safe,
Mrs Hurley Mr Greenfield Miss Harvey

Welcome to Week 9

Dear Parents

We hope you had a great weekend and that you managed to fit in some rest and relaxation. Do post any pictures of your on Google Classroom or via our PTA Facebook page! As always another HUGE well done to all the children who are posting some AMAZING work on Google Classroom. We are very proud of you and appreciate that it isn't easy doing your school work at home. Please keep posting it and sending it in to us as we love receiving it!

This week we have continued to load your Home Learning Tasks directly on to Google Classroom. From your feedback we can see that this system appears to be better suited to you and your child's needs. Please do email us at year3_4@downhallprimary.com if you have any queries or would just like to let us know how you are getting on!

School Re-opening - at this stage we are in the process of making plans to take back some children back into school by the 1st of June (providing the 5 key areas have been met). Please bear with us as we are still awaiting government guidelines that are ever evolving. As soon as we know more Mrs Nelson will communicate to you via the school website or our FB page. Whatever you decide to do will be right for your individual circumstances. You will not be fined for not sending your child into school and please be assured that the safety of all of our children is paramount.

And finally, please remember to only do what you can. We do not expect your child to be following a normal school day. Get out in the sunshine this week and make the most of it!

Year 3/4 Week 8 Hey everybody!

Dear Parents

Firstly, please be assured that we will be in touch as soon as we have had the chance to examine the details of the plans for the phased reopening of schools. The health, safety and wellbeing of our children and staff will always be the main priority for Down Hall Primary School.
We hope you had a great bank holiday weekend and that you managed to celebrate VE Day. Do post any pictures of your special celebrations on Google Classroom or via our school Facebook page! Can we just start by saying another HUGE well done to all the children who are posting some AMAZING work on Google Classroom. This week we have continued to load your Home Learning Tasks directly on to Google Classroom. Hopefully this is a better system for you to access but please do get in touch if you are experiencing any issues.

And finally, please remember to only do what you can. This is not a competition. We are also parents of children who are trying our best to homeschool our wee angels so we completely understand what can be a very trying experience. We will be here to support your child when they come back so do not stress! Make the most of this special time you have together.

Year 3/4 Well Being Check

Dear Parents

We hope you had a great weekend and that you are all well rested! Can we just start by saying a HUGE well done to all the children who are posting some AMAZING work on Google Classroom. We are very proud of you and appreciate that it isn't
easy doing your school work at home. Please keep posting it and sending it in to us as we love receiving it!

This week I have loaded your Home Learning Tasks directly on to Google Classroom. Hopefully this is a better system as I am aware of how frustrating it can be when you cannot open the work! Because it is the 75th Anniversary of VE Day on Friday, we have included some tasks for you to complete and hope that you learn something new about this very special date. To this end, please remember to enjoy the long weekend (it means a 4 day week kids!)

Finally to you wonderful parents We would like to thank you again on all your efforts - big and small - in home schooling your children. We appreciate that this is not always easy but I can assure you all that you ARE making a difference in helping your child's continuing education.
You and your children's well-being is extremely important to us and we would like to give you an opportunity to let us know how you are doing.
This blog has the comments section left open, PLEASE send us a little message letting us know how you are getting on. Don't forget the school is open everyday so there is someone available to answer phone calls if there are any urgent problems.
We look forward to hearing from you!
