Y3/4 Blog - Monday 29th June 2020

Dear All
I hope you have managed to have a relaxing weekend and hopefully spent some time with your loved ones.
This week we will be continuing our Home Learning with activities that closely mirror what we would have been doing if it were a normal school week. Please do ask for help if you need. Again, these lessons are for a range of abilities - some children will need support and others with be able to complete tasks independently.
We await further guidance from the government with regard to the expectation that there will
be a full return to school in September. We hope to give you more news this week.
In the meantime, please continue to send in photos of home activities or upload them to our Google Classroom. We really want to hear from you!

Please do feel free to drop us an email or phone the school if you need us. We are only too happy to help you in any way you need.
Do continue to keep safe and well and have a fabulous week!

Love Mrs Hurley, Mr Greenfield and Miss Harvey

Y3/4 Blog - 22nd June 2020

Dear All
Welcome to Week 14 of Home Learning. We hope you are hanging in there...
The past week we have received a few emails reaching out to us to let us know that you are struggling. We'd like to reassure you that you are not alone. It seems that everyone I speak to agrees that the children are getting to that point in lockdown where they are losing the motivation to learn. Our advice to you is to take each day as it comes. If your child doesn't want to do any school work, it really is not worth the stress and the tears. If all your child does is read a story with you then you are doiing great! This week the Government has announced a support package for children to 'catch up' on any lost learning. Some children may have done more work at home than others. It is all ok. When we get back into school in September we will do our utmost best to settle your child back into familiar school routines. We are all in school fulltime and also trying to home educate our own children so please know that we do understand how difficult it can be!

Please do feel free to drop us an email or phone the school if you need us. We are only too happy to help you in any way you need. And finally, please keep an eye on the school website and our Facebook page regarding any school updates. We expect that there will be changes announced over the coming days.

Do continue to keep safe and well and have a fantastic week!

Y 3/4 Blog - 15th June 2020

Dear All
Welcome to Week 13 of Home Learning. How are you all doing? At this stage I know my own children are starting to lose a little motivation and that we are all doing our best to keep on track. It isn't easy and some days have been better than others. We want you to know that you are all doing a great job. You have supported your children through a pandemic that has thrown us many challenges.

This week we are asking your child to consolidate their knowledge of Time. Some of the concepts may be tricky. Don't worry - these will all be revisited. It would be great if you could support your child in learning how to tell the time. It is not something that they pick up over night. It is a long process.

Part of the English this week is to write a Science Fiction story. Please do ask us for help if you need to. It would be great to see some finished stories!

Please do feel free to drop us an email or phone the school if you need us. We are only too happy to help you in any way you need. And finally, please keep an eye on the school website and our Facebook page regarding any school updates. We expect that their will be changes announced over the coming weeks.

Do continue to keep safe and well and have a fantastic week!

Y3/4 Blog - 8th June 2020

Dear All

How are you all doing? It's very hard to believe that we are now in Week 12 of our Home School Learning. Thank you for emailing in all your positive comments about the resources we are providing you. We are trying to maintain a balance so that everyone can access learning - with independence or help if needed. Please do feel free to drop us an email if you need us. We are only too happy to help you in any way you need.

This week we are asking you to focus once again on completing some Maths and English work each day. Please do continue with the Science that Miss Harvey has been setting you. It's great to see photos of your hard work too. Hopefully you will be able to get outside for walks this week after such a cold and rainy weekend!

We have been so impressed with all the children's Project work on WW1. A lot of time and effort has gone into this area and this week we will continue our learning. Feel free to go off and explore your families experiences as this is how we know our future generations will continue to appreciate the sacrifices made so that we can continue to live in a free world.

And finally, please keep an eye on the school website and our Facebook page regarding any school updates. We expect that their will be changes announced over the coming weeks.

Do continue to keep safe and well and have a fantastic week!
