Year 3/4 Blog Friday 1st October 2021

 Dear Parents,

We hope you have all had a lovely week.

This week, in Year 3/4 we have been using the film 'The Avengers' as a stimulus for our writing.  The children are producing some very detailed newspaper reports.

In maths, the children have been learning about greater/less than and also work on numberlines and negative numbers. Our learning of Roman Numerals features in this week's homework and although it is for Year 4 children it would be great to see all Year 3 children give it a go please.

We are still waiting for homework books to arrive.  Hopefully they will be with us next week.

Please remember that with the onset of colder weather, all children need a warm and waterproof coat at all times.

HOMEWORK

Year 3/4  Homework Tasks - Due Friday 8th October
As our homework books have not arrived, we will continue setting your homework on Google Classroom.

Must Do

  • Reading: Remember 15-20 minutes everyday is super important. You will have taken your Reading Record home for your parents to comment on. These will be collected by teachers and checked from time to time. Please make sure you bring your book back when you are finished and your teacher can change it for you. As soon as you are ready you can take a quiz at school. Remember that you need 3 100% scores to move up a level.
  • High Frequency Words - Learn the words specific to your Spelling Group. Practise spelling them out loud and writing them down.
  • Times table practise - this week we are looking at 4's. Please practise these as we do in school.

Can Do

  • Continue logging on to TTRS, Sumdog and Myon or Big Cat - your logins are stuck in the front cover of your Reading Records.
  • Roman Numerals worksheet

Remember you can either type out your homework on a Google document and share it with your teacher or hand write neatly onto paper and bring it into school.
Please ask for help if you are unsure!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Mrs Hurley, Miss Harvey & Mr Greenfield
