Year 3/4 Blog Friday 15th October 2021

 Dear Parents,

We hope you have all had a lovely week. Year 3/4 children have been super busy learning all about addition in maths. Some children have been introduced to the column method so it would be great to see you practising this for your homework this week. In Art, we have been very busy creating our Christmas card for you to purchase cards. We will be sending these home for you to look at next week.

Parent/Teacher Consultations

Please continue to  book an appointment to meet with your child's class teacher on Friday 22nd October, 8:30am to 3:30pm.  Use the Scopay app to secure your slot.  We will, once again, be using Zoom.  A meeting link will be sent to you nearer the time.

Harvest Festival

Our Harvest Festival collection continues with a collection box at the gate and any contributions are greatly appreciated.  Here is the link to our Harvest Blog and to our Harvest Festival Samba song to get you in the mood! Thank you to all those that have already contributed!

HOMEWORK

Year 3/4  Homework Tasks - Due Wednesday 20th October

Must Do

  • Reading: Remember 15-20 minutes everyday is super important. You will have taken your Reading Record home for your parents to comment on. These will be collected by teachers and checked from time to time. Please make sure you bring your back your Homework Books by Wednesday of the following week.

  • Accelerated Reader - when you are finished your book your teacher can change it for you. As soon as you are ready you can take a quiz at school. Remember that you need 3 100% scores to move up a level

  • Times table practise - this week we are looking at 4's/5's. Please practise these as we do in school.

Can Do

  • Continue logging on to TTRS, Sumdog and Myon or Big Cat - your logins are stuck in  the front cover of your Reading Records.
  • Practise painting a picture at home. What brush skills did you use? You may bring your artwork into school to share with your class.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Mrs Hurley, Miss Harvey & Mr Greenfield
