Dear Parents,
Happy Friday, everybody! This week, the children have been taking part in assessments and they have done us all proud! Every single child has given it their absolute all and that is all that really matters. Next week will be Week 6 - our final full week. Thursday sees the return of our Open Evening. We cannot wait for our children to share all their amazing work and learning from the year. You will also receive your child's report next Friday.
Please see below for important diary dates.

LIBRARY VISIT
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week we visited the Rayleigh library and learnt about our project about Britain 1900-1950. And it was about how schools were years ago going back to the 1900's and we discussed how it was like back then and the person who was telling about what are learning about is called Karen. If you want to get a library card it would look a bit different to the children's one because the children’s one is green and the adults one is orange
You can borrow books and you can get 14 at a time so you don't have to come back. which is renewing. Essex has 74 libraries. Everybody who brought a library card got one book or some people got two.Thank you to the workers at the library for letting us go to library and talking about what it was like back then and thank you to the people who took us down to the library.

SPORTS DAY
What a day we have all had. The children had so much fun and were so well behaved. Congratulations to all the winners in the sprints and relays, throwing and jumping events. A massive well done to all the children who showed such determination and enthusiasm. Many thanks go to Miss Sharman for organising all the events. And lastly, a huge thanks to all our lovely families. We hope you enjoyed your day with us!
UNICEF SHOESHARE APPEAL
Once again on the last day of term we are collecting shoes in partnership with Unicef and Clarks, who will cleverly turn our old shoes into money that will help fulfil the rights of children around the world. You can send your child with a spare pair of shoes on the final day this term so that they can place their unwanted school shoes into our collection box. If you have any other unwanted pairs you can send these in too and if you want to get started early with a big shoe clear out, we will have a box ready to take them from Monday 11th July. Shoes must be in a wearable condition with no holes or broken soles and paired together with an elastic band. You can find out more about Shoeshare here; UNICEF & CLARKS SHOESHARE APPEAL. Our last collection total was 145 pairs of shoes, let's see if together we can smash this total!

HOMEWORK PAGES
Please can you make an effort to finish all outstanding pages in your Maths and English homework books. We know how hard you've worked this week on your assessments so we will be setting no other formal work.
Have a fantastic weekend!
Much love,
Mrs Hurley, Mr Greenfield & Miss Harvey
