Times Tables Rock Star Day

On Friday 24th, June the whole school took part in a TTRS day. We dressed up as rock stars and took part in math's activities throughout the day. During our assembly we learnt all about the importance of learning our times tables and how using Times Table Rock Stars can help us. We had a live battle between 2 of our school’s quickest children and even Mrs Hurley and Mr Greenfield got involved. It was amazing to see how fast some children are – but the main message was the importance of accuracy.

We had lots of fun playing TTRS and challenging other classes to battles! We played a game in pairs using dice. We rolled a dice each and multiplied the numbers together to see who was quickest – it was very competitive! We also created our own board games and posters to help us learn our times tables. The children also took part in a Times Table Treasure Hunt which was so much fun!

We all had a great fun filled day learning our times tables in a variety of ways. Congratulations to our winners and to everybody for taking part.

If you are unsure about your child’s TTRS login details, please ask your child’s class teacher for more information.

RRS

A huge thank you to all of the children, parents, staff, governors and PTA members who took part in our recent reaccreditation for the UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools Award.  We are happy to share with you our recent report confirming our success in maintaining the Gold Award.  Take a look at the report here and read more about what RRS means for us and our children in school here.

We thank you all for your continued support in learning about Children’s Rights which is key to fulfilling our curriculum statement; learning to care for ourselves, each other, our school and our world.

Go team Down Hall… WE ARE GOLD!

Must Do

  • Reading: Remember 15-20 minutes everyday is super important. You will have taken your Reading Record home for your parents to comment on. These will be collected by teachers and checked regularly. Please bring your homework books back to school when you are finished so that we can check them. Thank you.
  • Please make sure that your child is continuing to read and work on the Year 3 and 4 spellings which can be found in their reading record books.
  • Accelerated Reader - when you are finished your book your teacher can change it for you. As soon as you are ready you can take a quiz at school. Remember that you need 3 100% scores to move up a level

Can Do

  • Continue logging on to TTRS and Sumdog
  • Complete the task sheet uploaded on to Google Classroom

Have a fantastic weekend!

Much love,

Mrs Hurley, Mr Greenfield & Miss Harvey
