Times Table Rock Stars

This week your child has been practising their Times Table Rock Stars in class. We would like all children to continue practising over the next week. The best level to choose is the Studio one which has all the times tables on it. We will be having battles between the classes next week.We are preparing for our TTRS day on Friday 24th June. We would love your child to dress up as a rock star. Hopefully they will be practising for the upcoming battle at home. Don’t forget to ask your teacher for your log in if you don’t already have one.

We have lots of fun activities planned for this day and hope we learn more about the importance of learning our times tables and how using Times Table Rock Stars can help us.

So grab your bandanas, don your wigs and grab your air guitar!

KS2 District Sports

Congratulations to all of the children who have been selected to take part in District Sports next Thursday.  Mr Grey and Mr Attfield had the difficult job of choosing from lots of children who have performed exceptionally well in their PE lessons since Easter.

If your child has been selected, I would like to thank you for how quickly you have all returned letters and requests for programmes.  If you still need to pay for your programme(s), please send the money into school with your child or pay at the office.  I will issue programmes for the children to bring home on Monday.

On the day of the event, children should come into school wearing their PE kits.  Please keep an eye on the weather forecast and send appropriate clothing, a hat, a full water bottle and a packed lunch.

If you have any questions regarding District Sports, please email me on year5_6@downhallprimary.com

Must Do

  • Reading: Remember 15-20 minutes everyday is super important. You will have taken your Reading Record home for your parents to comment on. These will be collected by teachers and checked regularly. Please bring your homework books back to school when you are finished so that we can check them. Thank you.
  • Please make sure that your child is continuing to read and work on the Year 3 and 4 spellings which can be found in their reading record books.
  • Accelerated Reader - when you are finished your book your teacher can change it for you. As soon as you are ready you can take a quiz at school. Remember that you need 3 100% scores to move up a level

Can Do

  • Continue logging on to TTRS (get your costume organised!)

Have a fantastic weekend!

Much love,

Mrs Hurley, Mr Greenfield & Miss Harvey
