Friday 19 May 2023

 Dear Parents/Caregivers,

Please make sure your child comes to school prepared for the weather - whatever that may be! Sunnier weather is slowly coming, so please can the children bring a sunhat into school and also apply sun cream before school. Children should bring in a bottle of plain water in a named drink container. Please ensure your child's jumper or cardigan is named so we know who to return it to should it be left outside.

WHOLE SCHOOL SUMDOG NATIONAL COMPETITION

Calling all of you amazing mathematicians!

You have been entered into the Sumdog  Competition. It starts on Friday 19th May at 3.30pm, and finishes at 3.30pm on Thursday 25th May.

Why not have a go and get your class on the school leaderboard?

I will be monitoring how well each class is doing. The winning class will get extra playtime!

Let's show our school what great mathematicians we are!

Good luck.

Mrs. Hurley 👍

HOMEWORK:

This week we would like you to add another page of information to your magazine on Egypt.

Here is the link to click on: https://www.canva.com/brand/join?token=Mps2YZeBs4JIkKjeWO7nvg&referrer=team-invite

Please make sure you use your school email and not a personal one to log in.

We can't wait to see what information you add to your magazine and how you lay it out!

We have also added the spellings for this half term to look at below so please practise these.

Must Do
  • Reading: Remember 15-20 minutes everyday is super important. You will have taken your Reading Record home for your parents to comment on. These will be collected by teachers and checked regularly. Please bring your homework books back to school when you are finished so that we can check them. Thank you.
  • Please make sure that your child is continuing to read and work on the Year 3 and 4 spellings which can be found in their reading record books.
  • Accelerated Reader - when you have  finished your book your teacher can change it for you. As soon as you are ready you can take a quiz at school. Remember that you need 3 100% scores to move up a level
  • Times table practice - Please log on to TTRS and Sumdog
Can Do
  • Continue logging on to TTRS, Sumdog and MyOn or Big Cat - your logins are stuck in the front cover of your Reading Records.
  • Math's - Year 4 will be completing their statutory Multiplication Tables Check in June this year. To this end, please can you ensure your child is regularly accessing and practicing these at: https://mathsframe.co.uk/en/resources/resource/477/Multiplication-Tables-Check
  • Eurovision is taking place this week in Liverpool. What information can you find out about Liverpool and the Eurovision Song Contest? Create a poster outlining all the information you can find.
Have a lovely weekend

Mrs. Hurley, Miss Harvey and Mr. Greenfield
