Roman Homework Menu

Over the half term, the children have been learning about Romans. This includes areas such as baths and villas. Below is some extra homework for the children complete. This homework is optional but all work would be greatly appreciated.

English Challenges
Maths Challenges
Write a menu for a Roman meal in a wealthy family - e.g. Dormouse, dates, grapes.

Write a diary as if you are a Roman soldier – what you do in the day, moving to place to place, practising with weapons and cleaning your equipment.

Write factual information about a famous Roman Emperor – Choose from – Julius Caesar, Nero, Claudius, Caliqula

If you were a Roman Emperor what laws and rules would you make – Remember you are living a long time ago with no electricity!!

Write your own Kenning about a Roman soldier, an Emperor or a Gladiator.
Using Roman numerals write 10- 20 different dates in time that are important either to you and your family or in history.

Write a times table Rap using Roman numerals.

Time hunt – how many different ways is time displayed around your home? You can draw (using a pencil) or take photographs of different types of time and clocks.

Statistics – do a survey and record your data in a tally chart then draw as a bar chart. Ask your family about what is their favourite Roman invention.

Make your own Roman coins – design your own numbers and amounts.
